Noble Prize Physics

The Nobel Prize for Physics was released Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
Read the following link:
Nobel Prize

Do you ever try simple experiments around your house with things you have found?
How many of you have heard about putting a mentos candy in a two liter of pop and watching the geyser that will occur?
How many of you have tried experiments like this at you house?
Did you learn anything new from experiments you have done on your own?

Imagine taking that creativity many steps further as an adult and creating something that would win you the Nobel Prize.  How would you feel?

i like to watch my brother take apart his x box and work on it, and i help him sometimes, if that counts as an experiment...in the sixth grade at my old school we did that and we watched a mythbusters about it, i put a ton of viniger and baking soda together, but thats pretty cliche, i havent really learned much from my "experiments" if i won the nobel prize for physics i would be so excited and i would spend the prize at the speed of light(im not good with money)

I try some expeirments at homesometimes like the mentos in a 2 liter.
Yes I have heard about the mentos in a liter of pop.
I did that once with my little sister and pop went flying out of liter in 10 seconds almost. Its really cool but you need to be watching because the geyser stopped very quickly.
I have learned a few things from the mentos in a 2 liter. One is that you need to be in a open area. Another thing is to stay back a few feet so you dont get hit with anything.
I would feel very proud of myself and happy if I won the Nobel Prize because I worked very hard in school for many years and it finally payed off. Also because not just everyone gets this award, people who make a difference gets this award.

I have heard of the Coke and Mentos experiment. What Ive learned from that is you will blw up you stomach from eating them at the same time. I have this book of science experiments, one of my favorites is using dry ice to freeze a rose. It shattered like glass as soon as I touched it with a metal hammer. It reminded me of that 95 moons video.

To Sydney Keiser:
I consider the X Box an expeierment.I think that is very cool how your brother can do that and you ae able to help him.I would be clueless. Also I would probably be the opposite of you for spending the money.I would keep it until I needed it like for paying bills and for food.

I usually do not do simple experiments around the house but I have put mentos cany into a litter of pop, it was relly cool!
I would feel very pround of myself. I would be happy that I I got a good education and it finally paid off.

I completly agree with Rachel 100% on how she would feel if she won a nobel prize. I think I would fell the same way. Just totally overwhelmed! :)

I know why Manchester University won the nobel prize. They created wafers of carbon that are a single atom thick.

No. Ohhhh, yeah I've heard of those they are really fun I got splashed by one before and I was sticky. Not me, but I'd like to. Yeah, most of the time.
I would feel happy, but then again maybe a little sad because other people didn't win it!!!!>>>?.

I really think that scientists have a great sense of humor. Who would think to make your pet hamster and author of a scientific article? The think film of carbon was discovered by using scotch tape, well anyone can do great things!!!

My little brother and me like to take things apart and see what they look like or how they look, everything we take apart we find some part that makes us both more interested in the machine. I've heard that he reaction you get from the two liter nd mentos is pretty cool. I have never tried it myself but I will have to sometime. I remember one time we have this life saver and we rubbed it up against something and when you put it in your mouth it sparked. I dont rememer all of the experiment because it was so long ago but It was really cool. I would be very proud of my self and I would be very honered too!

My grandpa is a chemist at P&G. So he loves doing expiriments and stuff. Sometimes he buys dry ice and we play around with it freeze stuff. And I've heard of the Diet Coke/Mentos thing. But I've never done it! My mom would probably kill me for making a mess. I haven't really learned anything, becasuse like I said, I've never done the coke/mentos so I couldn't learn any thing from that.

wow that is so cool that someone could have figured that out by tapeing ducktape to a pencil can u image a tv being as thin as a credict card!?!?

I think its fun to see everyone ake somthing difficult appart the put it backtogether.I reamember in six grade in the beging of the year we did a fun project were you would have to take chemicals apart then put them back together.

I have never tried the mentos into a litter of pop. I heard what happens though and that would be cool to experence. However I have done put vinigar and baking soda together and it was cool.
If i invented somthing that won the nobel prize i would be so proud of myself and i would feel happy because of my acomplishment

To Kylie Hayes:

That is really cool about the life saver thing. That would be awesome to try.

When I was little, I wanted to be a scientist. So I always asked if I could do experiments. I had a couple of chemistry kits. But what I rember that I did was mix vinger and baking soda, I also did litmus tests to see what liquis around the house were acid or base.

i like to do experiments at home they are really fun and i agree with sydney my brother always takes apart his xbox and it is kinda intresting watching him do that sometimes he'll teach me.

Well, me and my brother put baking soda in a recylced wine bottle with a cork and added vinger it made a chemical reaction the cork flew over across the street and hit my neighbor in the face!!!
