A Seltzer moon is a moon that has an ocean made out of carbon. The life on titan I would think it would be bacteria. We should study titan more because it may have life and also it has many difretnt gases around it so we could discover what they are. Mars is so small beause the mater and gases on the planet it was also formed that way.

If life was found on Titan, its goin' to be bacteria or heck for all we know it could be a parasite! We should study Titan more because its one of the few places with an ocean. For all we know there cold be rock caves and we could shelter in them in the future, plus it represents what earth was like during the Ice Age.

I found out that jupiter in the first 10,000,000,000 years of our solar system came barreling toward mars but saturn "caught" jupiter and after years of going back and forth it made a gap in mars
on one of saturns moons a carbinated ocean, the carbination causes geysers to erupt like shaking a pop can then opening it.
It is an icey moon believed to have a rocky core. When sunlight hits the moon there is a chemical reaction.

I think we should study Titan more because we might be able to start life there and to see how people would be able to live in the freezing cold. Mars is so small because Mars would get pushed to a certain point when the gap is and then there just would not be enough room to grow any more.
In time we will know what the heck life is on other planets. But its still a long way to go. We may have landed the Rover on mars but Landing a Rover on a CARBON MOON?! We would need a whale-like submarine for it to ever get there. It would freeze the joints in seconds!

what they mean by seltzer moon is that they think there might be an ocean in the center of saturns moon. they have reason to believe this becuase they know for a fact that there are ploons shooting out water vaper that erupt from the surface. The ocean in the center of the moon is carbonated. This carbonation helps the water bubble and rise up to the surface and get threw the cracks in the ice, to the chambers where they actually erupt. Without this bubbling the volcanos wouldnt realy erupt. the carbonation came from the core of this ice moon where there are organic carbon compounds inside of rocks. They believe the ocean took in some of the rock and that's what caused the carbonation of the ocean causeing these eruptions.

Carbination in the ocean? Sounds a little weird. The carbon in the Earths core, mixed with the soil and made carination near the shore line on the ocean. On Titan, it has a thick layer of methane. It doesn't need water, or anything on there, just the atmosphere. The methane on Titan is like water here on earth. But, if there was really water on Titan, which is Jupiters moon, it would be frozen over to a pulp.

If life was found on Titan, I think that would be interesting and I do believe that there is because of the water vapor and possible ocean. As it stated in the 95 Moons video, I believe if there is life it's all bacteria. Which is still important because life in a whole different place from Earth is still a big thing. Which is why I think we should study Titan more. Mars is so small because of the way it was formed. Just as stars are. It didn't have the right ingredients to make it a larger planet.

Sydney, I found the same thing about mars. There was no material around it to make the planet bigger. Things like gasses make up stars and the same thing then goes for planets. Mars is an oddly small planet but it's because of it's atmosphere that it was formed as a smaller planet. The space around it didn't contain much extra gasses, and other ingredients to make a planet, to make Mars larger.
I never thought that the moon could ever have water on it. That is very interesting if the moon has water. I would love to visit the moon now

I found out that the reason they call it that a seltzer moon is because there are bubbles in the water that cause geysers, almost like a seltzer bottle being opened and spraying everywhere. they believe that carbon carbonated the water to form bubbles.
We should study Titan more often because there could be life able to form on it, and that there are massive chains of unidentified chemicals on Titan.
Scientists believe that Mars is so small because Jupiter was flying through space, went into the disc that would form Mars, and then Saturn pulled it back out, creating a gap.

If its like sistering plant to Earth then we should learn about it and see what its like, learn how maybe there is a way to live on Titan. I do agree with Anonymous: Ethan Mercurio, it does have carbonated oceans/ waters that can become geysers which can be related to carbonated drinks, such as Coke, Sprite any kind all you do is just shake the 2-liter botle and open the lid and there you go you have a pop geyser. Except, in Space you don't do anything they just shoot out geysers anytime.
i think we should still study titan because its carbonated watercan have life on it. and there may be sometype of life on titan. but this was so cool i love studying the planets.i think its very neat.

The fact about the seltzer moon is there is an ocean underneath the surface of the moon. It seems like there is carbonated water. I think it would would be pretty neat if there was life on Titan because maybe it could give us some more information on what lives there and/or what grows there. Mars is so small because there may be a gap in the disc and when Mars went through, there was nothing there. Someone said that Mars is supposed to be 5-10x bigger than it is now.
If life were found on Titan, you know, I woldn't really know what to think. I think we should study it a little bit more just in case. Why is Mars small? How are we supposed to know?

Only a celcer moon meens that there s a frozen moon that is supposed to have a frozen ocean under it. even though this moon is frozen the center is made out of celcer rock. the ocean had obsorbedf some of that rock and that made the moon. a celsar moon.
If titan had life on it that would meen that people could live in these onditions. And if something bad was going to happen in so and so million years we would have a place to go. I think that we should keep observing titan so we can learn more about it and to see if poeple can survive there oe day.

It is called a seltzer moon because they compare the moon to seltzer. That their theory is correct and can suport life. We may be able to live on Titan and we need to study more. It has been hit against astroid after asteriod to create other planets.
If life was found on sulavis that would be amazing but what I think if that there is life it would have to be very different than are's. The creaturs would have to be able to survive all the harsh treatments of the guisers and carbanated water. I think it is very neat but that planet is not meant for us. The reason mars is small is because when it was formed the disk that was used had a gap in it. Scince mars did not have any in the middel it made the planet smaller.
Titen should still be studied because there could be life but only for that purpase.

I also think at it is confusing to listen to. It is kind of hard to follow because it goes from one idea to another. I think that they could compare things on other planets to what we have here like icy volcanos. They could say what its like or something to relate and so it makes sense.

We should study Titan more because it sounds like an intresting planet that gets alot of chemical reactions. Well Rachel, I refered to the carbon oceans as 7UP because if you have listened to the interview carefully, it caused carbon bubbles(usually found in 7UP or any other carbonated beverage such as Coke or even Pepsi) to form and makes the carbon lighter than the ice from the fallen comets. During the Ice Age, many of the continents were covered with ice, snow, and sleet, but it also melted yearly, then it came back. On Titan the same priciple applied, thawing and freezing over and over again.
Yes it would be good to have 7UP oceans, BUT it can iterfere with the rain, for all we know, we could bathe in 7UP there! More of lime an unlimited supply of 7UP popcicles. But if we did live Titan, we would need a huge layer of insulation to even be there without freezing to death or frostbite! So basically on an average day, you would see people waddling around in thermal suits with and Oxygen tank strapped on. Plus there would be no diving or even any other water sport beside Canonball jumping. And bouncing, alot of bouncing and Sumo Wrestling. Not a fun place if you're in to other sports.
My theory on how Titan was formed would be that:
1.)The hole in the dust formation from Saturn plowing through could have caused Titan to look like a miniature version of Mars.
2.)Then after eons of being struck by comets Titan had enough and it started to cool down the core, causing it to become a frozen ice ball, you could call it a gigantic comet.Eventually the core started to grow a bit cooler every so often, the core is basically geyser holes just empty space, they probably used to have been lava tubes or just caves that were formed because of impacts.
Brady I didn't say that we were going to move the entire planet. It works like colonies. Close link to Earth, possibly we could use Wormholes to move faster. From Goldilocks we could harvest new plant life, gather new elements, and even advance in technologies. And the 7UP thing, that was to just carry my point across as there being carbon bubbles and there being geysers, just a simple way to be able to get it across, thats all.

i agree corissa the only life on titan is probably only bacteria. I hope they study tis moon even more so that we can find life on there if there is any. i sure hope there is. How cool would it be to live on another planet, well moon other than earth?!

Owen, I agree with you on the fact that there might be life on Jupiter's moon, because bacteria, fish, whales and other aquatic animals are capable of living in water. Also, if there is life, it could survive in the carbonated water with various adaptations. Even if there is not life already, we could move life to it.

on the contrary, if there is life on titan that would be a HUUUUGGGGE discovery.
what i mean by that is almost all life at some point was very very small.take a look at people!before we are born were only about the size of the period at the end of the sentence.
so as you can see, even if life on titan is microscopic, that would mean we would be one step closer to living on other worlds.

One of saturn's moons has a ocean that is believed to have carbonated water in the ocean.This can be called a seltser moon. This is frozen but its core is believed to be rocky. The atmoshere of one the moon that orbits Saturn,(Tyton) is mad up of many chemicals such as etholeen or ethane gas. If sunlight hits the moon there is likely to have a chemical reaction. There most likely is not water on Tyton because it is frozen. If there is water there, it would be frozen.
As said on the podcast, thefe might not need to be pools of water on the land, life may have started in the atmosphere or the sky. Also what has been said is that the methane on Tyton is what is water on earth. Earth may also have looked frozen like Tyton when it was young. It is believed that maybe we don't need water for the building blocks of life. Another mystery is why is mars as small as it is. There might be a gap in it beacause Jupiter may have tumbled in tugging saturn causing a gap on mars. Also young stars have disks around them that includes rock that collides together making a large sphere. this is aTheory why there might be gap in mars or its disk.

seltzer moons are moons with oceans of carbon, i think the only life on Titan would be bacteria but we have to study it more because it actually has an ocean and thats rare for a place not called earth, and i think the reason why mars is so small is that Saturn crashed into mars or theres a gap in mars's dust formation
Scientists think there is an ocean inside the moon of Saturn called Inseladus. They know there are plumes of water vapor that erupt from the moon. This ocean is carbonated. They think the core is rocky and there is carbonation in the rocks and they think there was movement which pulled up some of the carbon from the middle of the moon. When the carbon erupts it is really geisers and the carbon comes throught the ice. I think Inseladus is really cool to learn about.
I learned that there can be oceans mad out of carbon and there are gisers on inseladus which errupt with carbon and I think it's really cool that there could be life with ice all over and oceans made out of carbon.

However no one has found any other place in space that humans could live, other than our own earth. I think Titan could have useful information, which would make it worth studying, anything would really be worth studying in space, because it would better educate us about topics that we know very little about. I think that life could mabey survive on Titan. If the temperatures are to extreme then probablly not BUT since titan if said to have an ocean who really does know. We have to study it more and stop putting it aside. However we also need to stop putting aside the other planets which are said to have life. Mars is also pretty small and i couldnt imagine life on it only because we are all so used to earths sourondings and places.

i never thought of that, all i was thinking about was that there could be something or someone that is somewhat like us humans, not other living things like plants bacteria and etc. But what im wondering now is that if we do move to a different planet what the purpose of that would be. like would the reason be because of global warming or natural disaster and etc.

I never knew a planet could have life either...I mean i get that there could be life on a planet because we live on a planet and it has life but I think it's interesting we are the only PLANET with life. Also, i know it's kind of off topic, but what is Pluto considered now???? I wonder if it could be a moon? Could it maybe have life? Have people examined it well enough? I wonder if other planets have life but we just haven't examined them well enough. I think that if we open our eyes to bigger possibilities what we could find. I think it's interesting in the IMAX movie at space camp how there are billions of galaxies in that one strip. I think we should examine those more. Even if we don't have the resources we should find a way to find out more information. This could open us up to a whole new world.
It would be cool to live on Jupitars moon. We could do so much more stuff. The fact that it is frozen means we would be able to iceskate, snow board and ski all year round. If there is life on Titan that would be neat and might mean we could survive on it. i would guess that it would take a long time in order to get to Titan probably more than 10 years.
Commenting on Hailey hoovers post. Even if there was just bacteria on Titan doesn't mean we couldn't live there. It only means that bacteria has found a way to addapt and be the first to survive on titan. Who knows there might not just be bacteria that lives on titan maybe there are creatures that live under the ice.

I completly agree with you life could be very dangeras but even though they could be dangerous or the other way around you never know. The world is out there but it might be to dangerous you never know.
I agree with brendan we should sudy titan more but I think that we should focus on the celcer sea and less on if there is life on titan.

seltzer moon is the moon of saturn scientist say they think there is an ocean in the selibus with ploons of water vapor erupting from the south pole. The ocean is carbonated and the carbanation bubbles would help the water rise to the surface and help get to the cracks of the ice and help fill the chambers next to the ice surface moon.

the reason mars is so small, anthony, is because when the sun and planets were forming from a spinning disk like shape there was a gap in the disk were there was no matter and mars spun into the disk and was unable to gather any materials to make mars larger
