Did the Discovery shuttle launch on Friday?  How would you feel about going up in space knowing a shuttle had technical difficulty before the launch?
If you were to go up in space would you prefer to do the work from inside the shuttle or would you want to be one to go outside the space craft and do the space walk?
What are yoru thoughts?

If i was going to be launched into space after my shuttle had technical difficutilties i woul not want to go and i would never want to go again. I would want to work in the shuttle because i would be scared that if i as out in space i would float away.
The speace shutle got delayed the for the forth time thursday due to weather. Heavy rain early Thursday buffeted Florida's Kennedy Space Center. And this happened after early glitches that postponed the launch three times earlier in the week were resolved. Discovery's 11-day mission was originally scheduled for November 1. Its all-American six-member crew, including female mission specialist Nicole Stott, will deliver a pressurized logistics module called Leonardo, which will be permanently attached to the space station to provide more storage space. The shuttle will also bring Robonaut 2, the first human-like robot in space and a permanent addition to the orbiting space station, as well as spare parts.

It did NOT launch on Friday. It's like as if the weather did not want to launch the Discovery. If I knew that the shuttle had a techincal difficulty, I would just delay the flight, and fix the problem. I wouldn't care if it would delay the launch, saftey before science. I would prefer to get out of the shuttle and hit a few golf balls. Actually I would play a bit of Moon Rock Tennis. Or even Intergalactic baseball. I plan on putting a few balls into orbit. Honestly, space crafts are essential to us, due to the fact of our pollutants. Mabey we can escape this planet and move to a different one. BUT only solar cells and other green energy savers, FLOUROCENT BULBS ONLY PEOPLE!!! If we keep this up and not find a way to fix up that Ozone, we are toast LITERALLY! So keep it up NASA! Launch as many birds as you can before Oboma cut off the funds!

I also agree with drew again i would be very nervous that it had to be fixed professionals.

No, the discovery shuttle did not launch on Friday. The shuttle was supposed to launch on monday but got held back four times because of heavy rain and bad weather. Since some repairs could not be made to the shuttle the date was pushed back to late november at the earliest. I would feel really scared and worried if I knew the shuttle had technical difficulty before it launched bacause something could go wrong with the shuttle and you may not get back down on land. I would like to go outside the space craft because I think it would be neat to actually see what it looks like on the outside.

The final scheduled launch of the space shuttle Discovery was delade again because of the weather. I would be really scared to go up knowing a shuttle had technical difficultys. I would be scared even if it didnt though. If i went up i would want to be the one going outside because if i go up there i would want it to be worthwhile.

The space shuttle did not launch on friday. The crew noticed a hydrogen leak early Friday morning, as they fueled the shuttle to launch.
After a few setbacks last week, officials thought it could lift off Friday afternoon from Cape Canaveral. Then, when repairs could not be made, this date was pushed back to the end of November, at the earliest. NASA engineers also discovered a seven-inch crack in the foam of the external fuel tank. They say, even if the launch hadn't been dismissed, this would likely have delayed it. I'm kinda worried, what if something goes wrong while the shuttle is going up into space?Uhm...thats hard, they both sound fun. Inside the shuttle you won't have to wear all that equipment you would have to wear outside, and you don't have to hold you pee...but outside you can see all of the the space in real life and I think it would be a waste to go up to space but not being able to go out of the space craft.

The final scheduled launch of the space shuttle Discovery in a museum was delayed for a fourth time Thursday due to bad weather. The latest in a series of delays for orbiter's mission to the International Space Station.

Heavy rain early Thursday delayed Florida's Kennedy Space Center where Discovery had already been rolled out to the launchpad after early glitches that postponed the launch three times earlier in the week were resolved.

"There is a no go for 24 hours because of the weather," a person at Kennedy Space Center said.

Launch is now set for 3:04 pm Friday, with weather forecasts showing a 60-percent chance of favorable conditions, the US space agency said.

I am wondering when the discovery shuttle launcher? i haven't seen anything other than it was changed to Friday becouse of Thursdays weather conditions.

The shuttle did not launch Friday, because they found a leak in the shuttle, and the earliest launch date would be around Nov. 30th. I would feel nervous and 100% scared about launching with a difficulty in the shuttle. I would not feel very good about the idea to fly into space alreading knowing there has been technical difficulties. If I had the oppertunity to go into space I would prefer to go outside the space craft and walk around. It would be the experience of a lifetime and whenever I see or hear anything about space walking it sounds like a lot of fun to do. Although I wouldnt want to go out there alone, I would always want a partner or someone to go outside the craft with me. My thoughts of the launch are that I would be a nervous reck to go up into space with my shuttle having technical difficulties, what if something happens? You never know, and if I were one of them I would deffinetly think about getting it fixed before launch.

Yes O'Leary, the fun of the spacewalk. Even Oboma had to admit that, bt sadly he was thinking of shrinking the funds. Apparently we need more for 'IMPORTANT' stuff. More of like a million dollar raise in his paycheck. But anyways, vote against Democrats and we can keep up NASA from the terror of Oboma. But one dis advantage is that possibly everytime a rocket goes up, a bit of Ozone goes up with it. But again LAUNCH AS MANY AS YOU CAN BEFORE OBOMA GETS THE MOOLAH!

I would feel very scared and worried knowing that a shuttle that you were supposed to go in had difficulty before the launch.I would feel that because if something went wrong then I could die or get seriously injured.
I would want to work inside the shuttle half of the time because I would be way to scared to go out first.I would only go outside the shuttle if somebody else went out first and everything went smoothly. The other half of the time I would want to go outside the shuttle because its a once in a lifetime experience.I wouldnt want to waste it because Im too scared.
Some of my thoughts about the shuttle is how long do the astraunauts have to train to go into the shuttle? Also how do the families of the astraunauts cope knowing that one of their loved ones is in serious danger?

The Space shuttle was supposed to launch on November 1, 2010 but there was a delay due to weather. It was schedualed for last friday but did not launch. Itis now due for December 1st and will only be a 3 day mission instead of a 11 day mission. When they launch they will send up something called a Leanardo to make extra space. Also they are going to bring the space stations 1st perminant robot. Also they did not launch because of a hydrogen leak. I hope the launch is succesful when they get to launch it.

Megan and Deborah;
I agree and think that the whole point of going up to space is to explore. If you just stay in the shuttle you cant really experience space and actually moon walk and float. To experience zero-gravity must be the best feeling ever, and if you dont go out there then you might not ever get to experience that or walking on the moon either. You would get to actually see the whole solar system right in front of you outside the craft, but it wouldnt be the same working on the inside.

Wall, Alexandra said...

The shuttle did not launch on Friday. It was dleayed once again due to weather. It was going to be the fourth and final flight of the year, but it is now getting delayed to the end of November. It had been launched late because of technical difficlties and then weather delays. I would not like to have gone in that space shutttle after it had all those technical difficulties.

I would be very nervous going into space, and the rocket having technical difficulties would probably make me have a heart attack before we would leave. I didn't like the simulators in space camp so, I probably wouldn't like flying in a rocket either.

I would probably like to do work from the inside, because the space suits don't look very comfy. But I would also enjoy taking pictures from space on the outside. I don't think that I would like to do work that was super important like repairing telescopes. I would probably be to scared that I would mess up.

I think that it is pretty ccool what some astronauts do but it would not be for me. I don't like being in tight spaces and I would probably be freaked out by no gravity. I also think that it would be hard to be in space with a bunch of people I didn't know that well for almost 2 weeks IN SPACE!!!

Even if the rocket didn't have techinical difficulties. I would want to do the outside work! I would want to go into space to see what if feels like! My thoughts? hm... my thoughts are that I am never going to go to space, probably. Maybe when I'm like, 80 years old and people have started taking vacations to mars. My other thoughts are that I will never work for NASA.

I would have to pee my pants that would be really scary going up into space knowing that somethings wrong. the space ship did launch on friday. I think it would be fun to walk around on the moon but I would feel really important working on the ship so either one sounds good to me!

Space shuttle Discovery was not able to launch on Friday because of weather once again. I think that sucks because that is their second last mission to do. Plus, I'm worried about the glitches because they could get to the point where they're permanent and nobody will ever fix them.

No. it did not launch on friday due to a gasoline leak. (thats what i found.) I would feel pretty uneasy if i new it had a technical difficulty before the launch. I would prefer to work inside the shuttle because I was NEVER one for heights. I think that it is very cool that they are sending a humanoid robot into space. I once saw a robot that was controled by a person wearing gloves and a suit that acted as a sensor.

1.The space shuttle did not launch on Friday, because of a fuel leak found in a pipe which connects the Hydrogen tank. The launch has been cancelled til the end of November.
2.I would be very nervous to go up the space shuttle knowing it had all these techical difficulties. I would have to know for sure that the shuttle was secure and safe for me to travel in.
3.If I went up into space i would perfer to work on the inside of the space shuttle, it would make me kinda nervous to be outside wondering the moon or another plant or even just floating around. Maybe if I worked up enough courge to I would but I would rather work on the inside of shuttle.
4. Its a good idea to cancell the launch until the end of November, the space craft needs to be examined to make sure its safe for people to travel in.

@Kailey Carter, I found that the space launch was deleyed because of a fuel leak. I did not see anything about weather though, could it be both? Where did u find your information?

No, the space shottle didn't lanch into space Friday because of a hytogen gas leak and cracks near the widseld. I would feel sick and queisy going up into space knowing that there was a problem with the space shuttle. If I was to dicide wether to repair the shuttle from the inside or outside I would choose to do it from the inside. The reason is that to me it wouldn't matter because you would be floating, but inside you would't run out of air. Also the inside because if the cord from the out side breaks you will be floating in space forever while inside you would be safe protected by a wall.

I think it would be so cool to go to space. I would love to see the Earth in that POV.
3. I would prefer going outside the shuttle. I might as well go all the way if I'm already up there!! Plus, I would love to see how it feels to walk in space!!! Oh and maybe do some Moon Golf??? (: It would definately be the experience of a lifetime.
4. Some of my thoughts are that I would LOVE going to space, I wish I could be the one going into space, I wonder how the astronauts feel to be going to space, and when is the next launch going to be.
