Mt Etna erupts in Italy

Where is Mt. Etna located in Italy.  What type of eruption was it?    What type of rock was created from this eruption basalt or granite?  What do you think that it would be like to live by an active volcano?

Mt. Etna is located above Catania in Sicily, Italy. It was a minor erruption with minor lava emissions. The type of rock that was created was basaltic.

To live by an active volcano would be scary, You would have to constantly be ready to run incase the volcano exploded. And when people had to evacuate it would be really scary and it would probably be hard to get out because it would be really crowded. I would be afraid of getting caught in the volcano and possibly dying.

Mt Etna is above Cantina, Sicily in Italy. It was a weak eruption with only weak lava emissions. Basalt is the type of rock that was created. I would be scared to live near an active volcano because it could explode at any time and if it did not only would you have to be ready to escape and risk death but you would also lose your home and possibly some of your family and friends.

I agree with Emma beccause I think it would be very scary because you would have to be able to escape at any time and it would be hard to get out because so many people would be trying to get out at the same time.

Mt.Etna is located in Catania. It was a small erruption with only a little bit of lava. This eruption produced basalt, and if i lived by a volcano i would be paranoid

To live by an active volcanoe would be very risky and scary because you never know when it will erupt and when it does erupt-whether your in your home or not-all of your things would be destroyed.

The eruption of Mt. Etna was in Italy on the island of Sicily just off the coast. The eruption was minor, and lava emissions were also destributed as a minor threat. The rock that was left over was basaltic rock which is pretty common after an eruption. I think living by an active volcano would be cool, and at the same time it would be very dangerous because it could erupt at any second. I don't want to be there when it really erupts. Other than that there would be a nice view, and if it was ephusive that would be cool because I'd get to see all of the hot flowing lava. Over time, the lava would cool and turn into basalt. I would like to visit some parts of Hawaii because some the beaches are actually black because of the volcanic ash and lava cooling after volcanic eruptions. Has anyone been on one of these beaches? What was it like?

I disagree with the people who blogged that volcanoes would be scary to live by because not all volcanoes have erupted recently. Some volcanoes haven't erupted for hundreds of years. I'd willing to risk it to live on a beach by a volcano. I'd get the sun, the fun, and the nice view of the volcano.
