The Rock Cycle

How successful were you?  Give me a brief summary of what occurs within the rock cycle

Rocks move, heat up, cool and form in the rock cycle. First volcanic eruption makes igneous rock, then rocls crumble and move. Small bits deposit in layers and make sedimentary rock. Rock gets buried and heat and pressure change them to metamorphic rock. Then rock melts and makes magma, last magma cools and makes igneous rock. I got the melting magma and cooling magma mixed up in the interactive activity.

i was 100% successful.what occurs in the cycle is when a volcanoe explodes and then cools it creates igneous rock. then when the rock moves and then deposited it becomes under pressure then the cycle starts over again.

I was not very successful, mainly I got 50% and I had to press the show button. But the interactive was confusing I couldn't follow it very well. In all the cycle works like this:
1.) Volcanic eruption causes Igneous rocks to form
2.) Rocks form layers to become Sedimentary rocks
3.) The buried rock is under heat and pressure and becomes Metamorphic
4.) Finally the Metamorphic rocks melt and form magma and restarts the entire cycle all over again

Evan Triplett said...

I got 100%.The rock is melted then it erupts from the volcano and layers are made and the presser melts the rock and the cycle starts again.

keisersydney said...

I was 100% correct. the rock cycle pretty much goes like this,
1.the rock melts and makes magma
2.the magma cools off and makes igneous rocks
3.the volcano erupts and the igneous rocks go everywhere
4.the rocks move all around and crumble
5.the tiny pieces form layers that form rocks
6.when the rock is buried, the pressure and heat make them into metamorphic rocks

batmanstake said...

i agree with ethan and volcanic eruptions make ignious rock

I got 100% the volcanioc eruption creates igneaose rock. Then the rocks crumble and move down the moutain. The small bits that are deposited in the layers of rock make sedimentary rock. The rock that gets buried heat and pressure change the rock into metamorphic rock. The rock starts to melt and makes magma. Then the magma cools and makes the igneous rock. Then it erupys and starts all over again.

Stephanie: In the rock cycle not only igneous is formed, but also metamorphic and sedimentary. All this occurs through heat pressure and cooling. Why do you think there is this cycle? I wonder what our earth would be like without this.

oleary stephanie said...

i agree with sean and how the cycle happens

Reichling,Alex said...

Volacnoes erupt and make ingneous rock. The ingneous rock is crubled and is depsodited in small bits to create sedimentary rock. The rock is melted and turned into metamorphic rock and is then melted and then cools creating ingneous rock. I didn't get any wrong.

there was alot of things going on in the rock cycle like when magma comes out of and is igneious rocks and then after it hardens then the rocks melt and makes magma and before it cools it makes magma

within the rock cycle, rocks will be formed, crumble, move, deposite and burn. the first thing that accurs in the rock cycle is that volcanic eruptions cause igneous rock. next, the rocks will crumble and move. third, sedimentry rock if formed by small bits of rocks being depostied in layers. then the rocks are changed into metamorphic rock because they get buried heat and pressure. next the rocks melt and make magma. Lastly, the magma cools and makes igneous rock once again. now we are back at the start of the cylce. but since its a cycle you could really jump into it anywhere. you dont really have to start at once cetain spot. during the interactive activity, i got a couple of them mixed up.

Reichling,Alex said...

I agree with sean about the interactive activity being hard to follow. I think they should have numbered the cycle to see which happens first and so on.

Rocks cool, melts, crumble, move, gets buried, and deposits in layers. During the rock cycle rocks turn into igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary rocks, and ,melts and turns into magma. When there is a volcanic eruption or when magma cools it turns into igneous rock. When rocks are buried, heat and pressure change them to metamorphic rock. When small bits deposit in layer, it makes sedimentary rock.

Sheridan,Megan said...

In the rock cycle there are six different steps. The frist thing that hjappens in the rock cycle is that a volcanic eruption occurs and makes igneous rock. The second stage is that the rocks all crumble and start to move. Then small bits of the rock deposits and they are on top of each other forming sedimentary rock. Fourth rock gets buried then heat and pressure forms into metamorphic rock. Fifth rpock melts and forms magma then last the magma cools and makes igneous rock. In this activity i got the magma cools and makes igneous rock mixed up with rock melts and makes magma. This activity helped me understand forming of rocks better than i knew it.

There are 6 steps in the Rock Cycle. The rock cycle is when rocks move, cool, heat up and form. The first step is volcanic eruptions happen, which makes igneous rock. he second step is that the rocks crumble and start to move. Then the third step is when pieces of rock are deposited and then they are set into layers over time, this makes the sedimentary rocks. After that comes the fourth step which is when the rocks get "buried" and then the pressure makes the sedimentry rocks turn in metamorphic rocks. The fifth step is when the rock can melt and turn into hot magma. Then the last step is when the magma cools and makes igneous rock. This cycle then starts over and repeats intself. I was not very successful at first and then after a while I really thought about it and got it to work.

kaleb.quinlan said...

Rocks move, heat up, cool and form in the rock cycle. First volcanic eruption makes igneous rock, then rocls crumble and move. Small bits deposit in layers and make sedimentary rock. Rock gets buried and heat and pressure change them to metamorphic rock.

I was 100% successful because I read them and tried to go in order for them to make sense.
The first thing that happens is, the volcano erupts.
Next the rocks are crumbled and it moved, then it deposited into layers and make a sedimentary rock.
After that the rocks get heat pressured and changed into a metaphoric rock.
Jennifer Somtrakool
Then the rocks melt into magma, and magma cools and make an igneous rock.

I was 80% successful. The rock cycle starts with a volcano erupting and making igneous rock. These rocks crumble and move and eventually deposit in layers to make sedimentary rock. Heat and pressure change these rocks into metamorphic rock. The rock melts and makes magma. Magma cools and makes igneous rock.

I agree with madison schnell that a volcano has to erupt first to make igneous rock.

i got 100 persent successful on the rock cycle. what happens when a volcanoe explodes and then cools it makes a igneous rock. when the rock moves and then deposited it becomes under pressyre then the cycle starts over again.

thr rocks move, heat up and they form into a rock.the volcano erups and maked ingenous rocks then the rocks crumble and move.small bits deposite in layers and they make sedimentry rocks.thr rocks gey burried and the heat and pressure changes them into metamorphic rocks.then the magma cools into and makes a ingenous rock again

1. rock melts and makes magma
2.the magma cools and makes igneous rock.
3.volcanc eruption makes igneous rock.
4.rock crumbles and moves.
5.small bits deposit into layers creating sedimentary rock.
6.the rock then gets burried and pressured to change into metamorphic rock.
7.rock melts into magma......the process repeat itself.

3.)Small bits deposit and make sedimentary rock.
4.)Rock gets burried heat and pressure change them back to metamorphic rock.
5.)Rock melts and makes igneous rock.
6.)rock melts and makes magma.
