Megan, some states can have the sand and gravel mined from underneath the ground and others don't. I think this would be because of where the states are located and what natural resources are available in them.

Shane, i noticed that most of your states have Portland cement, and sand and gravel. I wonder why this is? Texas was the only one without sand and gravel, and ohio was the only one without portland cement.

Shane, I didn't know that California has gold. Out of every state it had to be the one that was already famous, and now it had to have gold in it, too. I thought it ran out after the gold rush from 1848-1855, but it looks like there is still some there today. I'd like to get in on the gold rush today.

Down in SouthCarolina, more crushed and broken stone, portland cement, gold, and some sorts of clays. And lastly, California harvests portland cement, gold, sand and gravel, and boron, which is a soft, brown, amorphous, nonmetallic element.

Shane, I didn't know that California has gold. Out of every state it had to be the one that was already famous, and now it had to have gold in it, too. I thought it ran out after the gold rush from 1848-1855, but it looks like there is still some there today. I'd like to get in on the gold rush today.
