This week my creek was flooded almost everyday. I could not get out of my road any day except Monday. I could not have Easter dinner at my house and I had to wade through knee deep water to visit my family on Easter. We have had more rain this April than any April in history. So far we have already had over 10 inches of rain and it is supposed to rain almost every day this week. How has the rain effected your plans? Did you have to miss sports games? Did you have to move all of your spring break activities indoors? The lengthy rain is due to a what is know as a stationary front. This is an edge of an air mass that is not moving. Therefore, we are getting trains of rain all along the Ohio valley. Look at the link to see the symbol for a stationary front on the weather map. My basement floods everytime we have a heavy down pour so this is about the 5th time its flooded. Each time I had to come home and bail out the basement from the flooding, with a water vacuum and a bucket to toss out the water in the basement. At least it didnt rain one day, I was just able to go to the Zoo and be able to enjoy the sun.
I was out shopping with Madison, and we had to go home because my basement was partially underwater. I had a soccer game canceled because the fields were flooded and it was raining non stop.I didn't really have to move spring break activities inside. Looking at the map and seeing the symbols made me understand better what is happening. zSome of my friends had problems with trees, water in basements, and problems with roofs.
the flooding didn't effect me that much. i was still able to get in and out of my driveway. no one in my family had anything outdoors planned really so that wasn't messed up. yeah it rained a lot obviously but i wasn't effected that much. i may not like the rain but it didnt mess with my plans. there wasn't even water built up anywhere near my house.
Over spring break because of the rain all my soccer practices were inside, so i had to practice indoors. The fields we were suppose to play on were actually flooded.
The rain has affected my plans by I was suppose to go outside and hang out with Megan S. sometime this week but couldn't go anyday because of the weather.
I had a soccer game on Saturday afternoon but it got rained out because the fields were partially underwater.
My neighbor had flooding issues in their basement and backyard so on Saturday from about 3 to 6 I was helping my neighbor get rid of the water in the basement and put up a barrier outside to stop the water from reaching the house.
I actually didn't have to move any of my spring break activities indoors.
Some of my friends had water issues in their basement over spring break and had roof issues.

Rachel, I was upset we couldn't hang out because of the weather. We were both very busy too, but If it wasn't raining, and it was nice out maybe our plans would have worked out better.
It affected me because some of my activitys had to be moved inside or cancled, but they were only little things like not being able to walk somewhere. Also our easter egg hunt was almost cancled but the rain finally stopped long enough for us to do it. There was no water in my basement or really anywhere on my street. I live on a hill though so the water can really stay at the top. It affected my grandmaw because her basement flooded and they had to rip up the carpet and put in a new one.

Megan I know what you had to deal with when your basement got flooded. My neighbor was unlucky enough to have that happen to them too. It took a while to clean up all the water even with the help of half te neighborhood.

My house didnt flood , but my uncles house did. it ruined all over there clothes and electronics that were in the basement . it was almost to my ankles. We had to call someone to get all the water out .

There wasn't really a flood for me but the rain effected my plans. I was suppose to go to the zoo with a few of my friends but it was raining so we cancled that. I was out in Lakota at my friends house and her power went out.
Rain definetly affected my plans, because I was going to go to the zoo and do a lot of outdoor things, but instead we had to stay indoors and out of the rain. I did not have any track meets and swimming did not get cancelled, since its inside. Yes, again me and Megan had to go to the butterfly show indoors at Krohn Conservatory instead of going somewhere outdoors.

IT hasnt effected my family that bad exept for whn me and my sister where trying to get somewhere and all the streets where closed off. I havent missed and games.NOO. The rain also flooded my basment a littel and ruined my trip to my cousin.

The rain hasn't effected me that much, i don't really go to any sporting events, they all kinda bore me, there were only a couple times where i wanted to walk somewhere and it was pouring rain, thats probably the only way the rain effected me

Reply: Mine and Madison's basements did not flood, so we feel lucky after looking at all of the disasters in people's homes. But our plans did get ruined, just like Rachels, where we couldnt go anywhere, and our sports got rained out.

The road to get to my dad's house was flooded so we had to take the long way around and it toke us half an hour to get to my dad's house when it usually takes about 10 min.

i was in florida enjoying the sun and swimming everyday. We didnt even see a singe drop of rain. It was humid in the morning and a little at night.
The rain effected my plans because I couldn't do anything all week after my dad slipped and fell in the grass on Wednesday because he broke his arm where it connects to his shoulder and dislocated his shoulder and he had to have surgery on Thursday and came home on Friday but he hasn't been able to do much of anything and i have had to pitch in.i didn't get to see any of my friends all break except wen i went to a movie with my sisters friend. Some people say it was the worst break ever; they don't know the half of it.
My basement flooded the worst then it ever has. The steps were covered in water and my steps are really far from the landry room. the landry room is were the leak is. None of my plans got runed i was with lydia and we were helping move into her new house and it rained and we still contuned!

The rain affected my plains. Friday i was going to hang out with my 8th grade friend Brianna and her special friend lyndsey. The dumb rain is flooding my basin. We cant do the dishes because it will flood to the point our basment will have water all over it.
I cleaned my whole back padio and the rain flooded the yard over the wall onto the padio and it was muddy so i cleaned it for no reaaon

The rain didn't effect me that much. My baseball game wasn't cancled and I was able to go out side sometimes. Most of my activities were inside. I did have some flooding in my basement because leaves were clogging up the drain.

Since there was so much rain... some of my basement was flooded a little bit but not as bad as it usally is. Th only day it did not rain i was walking every where with my friends.

All of my soccer practices were canceled. My basement didnt flood though.On easter we almost couldnt do the easter egg hunt because it was muddy and wet in the back yard. So all my cousins were muddy after finding the eggs.

I did not have a flood because I live on a hill so a flood will not get to me.But that does not mean it is impossible to flood my house.It would just take a lot of water to get over a steep hill that I live on.
I had to move into my new house and some of the hard rain delayed us moving. but we did get moved in but we had to move everything we had downstairs upstairs so it didnt getting wet. cause my basement floods. i didnt have to miss any sports but i did have to stay inside during brake! and it was very boring! and i disliked havin to stay in side! i hope this rain ends so i can go outside.
The rain didnt stop my plans much.When i hid eggs for the little kids i had to hid them inside. I also had to go on my roof many times while it was raining and unclog the gutters. My side yard was flooded and washed away all our new multch we put down the day before.

Megan I know what you had to deal with when your basement got flooded. My basement actually flooded a couple years ago when we were dealing with alot here and it took us a while to clean it up, everything was completly wet. Is your basement ruined at all?
The rain definitely affected my plans. I was supposed to hang out with my friends on Friday, but my mom told me the roads were to bad to take me. I was gonna go on the Oak Hills Track but again, no one could take me up there, I couldn't run in the ran and plus it was storming pretty bad. Most of my time over spring break was inside.

wow thats a lot of rain 10 inches! my plans were affected because my family was goin g to go to indianapolis but we didn't go because of the rain. the weather also affected me in the middle of the night because we had to go to the safest place in our house for 1hour. then i was grumpy the next morning because my mom's kids she watches woke me up at 8'o clock in the morning.
When it rained, our basement didn't flood or anything, but a couple days later we found water on our carpet right behind our TV downstairs, but other than that, our house is in pretty good shape. The only day it was sunny is when I went to Stephanie's house, and it was sunny all day.

We got a trampoline for an early Easter present on thursday, but we couldnt set it up because our backyard was full of mud and water. I was supposed to go to the zoo with Jennifer but i couldnt because of the rain, so we had to go to Coco Keys since it was indoors. When we finally got the trampoline set up, it wouldnt stop raining so we couldnt jump on it that much.
Chase:i sat at my house and watched tv because i couldnt go any where and couldnt help my dad by helping him move to his new house which held us back from moving this week probaly.

Michael - My spring brake was awesom, because I was in Florida and there was no rain durring the week until it was time to go home. Fortunately for my family there was no flooding at our house and our plans were saved. Unlike many people I did have an unusaul Easter dinner not related to weather, my Easter dinner was at the airport.
Sam - My spring break was horrible except for the Dayton air museum. My basement flooded twice due to our backyard filling up. The drains in our window wells were plugged up, and our big drain could not handle the amount ofwater. The rain leaked in through the foundations. Luckily, the kids were home and could help.
In Ohio, there is a stationary front causing the temperature to be in the middle of cold and hot. Also, there is some rain in the northwest and the southwest, that possibly could have affected other people's spring brake.

Well, my apartment is well sealed and it never floods, unlike the apartment I had in preschool. Rain wouldn't effect my sports because Karate takes place inside. As I looked at the weather map, I could understand what the stationary front means. It may be a good reference to a project about weather.
My family and I were suppose to have an easter egg hunt outside but because of the rain on Easter we couldn't. Also, my coach had to cancel one of our softball games because the feilds were flooded. We moved the easter egg hunt inside.
me and my friends planned to go swimming in my pol but we couldnt because of all the thundering and lightning. so we ended up going to get movies and stayed inside all week. then on the weekend my soccer tournement got cancled because of the rain so its resqeduled now for a week that i already had 2 games on and music in the parks so ill end up playing 6 to 8 games plus going to music in the parks.

I noticed on Tuesday that the Muddy Creek was almost totally flooded. There were a couple houses near it and the yards looked like ponds. My family had to move our Easter into my house. we were supposed to have it out side, but because of the weather we had it inside. Jenna and I weren't here most of the week. We were in Gatlinburg and the weather there was perfect. When we left on Saturday it was 82 and sunny. And we came back to rainy weather. Bleck. I wish I was still in Gatlinburg.
Rain has affected my plans by not being able to play outside with my friends and playing baseball. Yes I did. No I didn't have to move my activities indoors.

well the plans kinda effected me because my grandmas basement and i had to tear all the carpet. I had to move all my activities indoor unless i wanted to be soaked.

My pond flooded in our back yard, sooo we couldn't play that day. We had a lot of severe weather over Spring Break, so that ruined my sleepover plans. Then, I had to do boring stuff inside. It affected other people by either flooding or severe weather.
The rain was so bad that I couldn't even ride my dirt bike. This was so far the worst spring brake ever.

I feel sorry about Megan Sheridan because her soccer game got cancelled and her basement was partially underwater while shopping with friends.
My family didn't have any problems at our house, but, we did have a lot of problems at Duebber's. We own a house next door for offices and a gym downstairs. The basement gym flooded with all of the electronics and they had to dig a pipe and drain all of the water. This delayed our vacation because my dad had to help. Our vacation was delayed by 3 hours, we left my house at 11:00. Our family easter was cancelled but it wasn't because of the rain, it was because of other reasons. My mom, dad, sister and me hooked up with my aunt and uncle and other cousins and grandma and grandpa to celebrate a mini easter. But, we weren't able to have an easter egg hunt or drive their golf cart because of the heavy rain. The weather on my vacation was beautiful!
This is the first year we did not do anything for easter with my moms side of the family. so we went to see the brazillian butterflies, it was cool one landed strait on my forehead. But this rain is making me really mad I want to go out side but it is too rainy, but that also means i can play in the mud!!

The rain effected my easter we went to my awesome grandmas house we usaly have cornhole and a easter egg hunt in the back yard but no cornhole. we did have a easter egg hunt. after the hunt me and some cousins started listening to music and danced in the rain.

my basement floods every time it rains and it usally drains out his hole we made puposly in the wall to drain the water but thursday i went to put my lundry in the washer and i thought is was ok to go down there and i didnt look before i jumped the few last steps and splashed water all over me and my close everything was soked the water came up to my knees it was so flooded everything in the basement that was 2 feet high was underwater it was insane i cooulded beleive it so what me and my dad did was drill a few more holes
On Saturday with the thunderstorm the thunder was so strong it actually shook my house. I was scared out of my mind.

The weather affected my plans because I was supposed to go to the zoo with Marissa and Deborah and another friend from Delhi, Monica.
I really wanted to go, but Monica told me it was supposed to rain. So I checked the weather forecast....70% Chance of rain. That just ruined everything.
On the night of the big storm, me and my mom got the camera and kinda recorded it, and then posted it on Facebook for the people in Thailand to see.
It was sad that it was dark so we couldn't really see.
I basically did everything I would on a regular day, stayed home, babysat, and played on the computer.
My highlight of my break was skyping my friends Monica and Cameron till 5 in the morning then I fell asleep on them,,,

I was in Florida over Spring Break. My dad was hoping for a storm to make the weather a little cooler, but all we saw in the way of a storm was some distant lightning. But we were lucky enough to hit a storm on the plane ride home. It was amazing to see the lighting so close. Our plane had to go around the storm cloud. When we got home, there was pretty much a lake in our garage. My dad is still working on fixing a new leak in the roof of our garage.
I agree with Sean that it was nice at least one day of our spring break and we could do something fun.

Lucky for me i live on hill. So it didn't flood. But all the flowers petals are gone. And the tulips are bent from all the rain we had. I hate rain. thats why I can't wait till June July where we get less rain.
Well my basement use to flood alot in because of this one wall but we got it fixed and during the break we found another spot in the other wall. But for the reast of the break the rain didn't affect me because I was sick.

Actually, the rain didn't affect my plans at all really b/c i was on vacation in california and we had sun just about every day!!! this weather was really stinky comming back too b/c i was so used to sun every day. However, we thought it might have affected our flight home through Detroit but we got there after the big storm hit.

My Easter was great even though my family and I couldn't do anything outside like we were going to go to Right Paterson airfeild in dayton and I didn't get to hide the eggs this year. The gutter on the side of our house was almost torn off the house, and my pool was overflowing into the grass which was already a swamp and that made it worse. The overflow pump (a pump that doesn't alow water above a certin hight) wasn't working all last week and it still isn't. I hope this only lastest to the end of april because I want to see the sun again.
Sean you must be having a hard time with all this rain, and I have had my basesment flood before. When it flooded we had to rip up the carpet and pump the water out but I still couldn't go down there because there were fans drying up the rest. My easter was not affected by the storms. My grandma was putting towels in the basemet garage so the water wouldn't seep through the gayrage. no flooding happened at my house.
Over all the rain my dad had to pospone redoing our driveway. My sister and I didnt mind the rain. We jumped on the trampoline and had fun. It didnt affect us over Spring break cause we went to Flordia. At least my basement didnt flood:)
The only thing the weather did was keep me from going outside as much I still went outside but i got drenched. The rain did make me very tired though so I took alot of naps.
It affected me because i was going to do world fit and i couldnt do it because it was raining. It affected other 7th graders because they couldnt do it either,
The rain did not really affect my plans. It did make things really dull though. Any sports games I had were inside so I was not affected in sports. It did not rain on Easter thankfully so we could have Easter outside and I did not plan on many big outdoor activities because of the weather. The rain cancelled many of my sisters softball games at Oak Hills.
Anthony, it stinks that your basement kind of flooded. It seems like I'm one of the only ones whose basement did not flood.
The night there was a tornado warning me, kyle gorman and a person named sam were playing candyland and watching the news. The rain also canclled alot of my soccer games and practices that week. But since we left for two days to go up to teledo for soccer it was an okay spring break(i lied it was the worst spring break ever)

I had many softball games and practises that were cancelled because of rain since the fields were to wet. On Easter we had to move our Easter egg hunt inside since it was all muddy. Some of the little kids were disappointed but still seemed to have alot of fun. I am sick of the rain and cant wait for the sun!!
